お洒落をして、コンピューターやスマホを器用に操り、コンクリートの上を颯爽と移動する。普通に生活ができることのありがたさ、日常が平穏に過ぎることの素晴らしさ、しかしそれに気づくときは自分が災害に遭遇したとき。そのことを痛感させられるその前に考えること。変化に満ちた地球に暮らす私たちが天変地異を大なり小なりやり過ごすためには、防災を暮らしの一部に考えないと成り立たない。とはいえ日常生活では役に立たない防災用品。都会では目にすることはあっても使用したことがなく、自分には無関係と感じている人が多い「土のう」。しかし1600年代の大阪城 三の丸の堀跡からも出土したという長い歴史を持つ「土のう」は水害や土砂災害対策の基本アイテムである。私たちは、この「土のう」の存在に着目し、日常生活でのあり方について、もっと前向きにとらえることはできないか、使いやすくできないか、と考えた。展覧会という形をとることで、災害との接し方を考える場を提供したい。

2017年からは、デザイナーのテーマは「土のう」、学生にはもう少し範囲を広げたテーマとして「都市の防災」を設定した。２つのプロジェクトの成果は渋谷区（旧渋谷区役所）や港区（みなとパーク芝浦）、江東区（木場公園）などで展覧会を開催し、地域の人々に災害を考えるきっかけづくりに貢献した。2017年からは、芝浦工業大学地域思考活動（COC）の補助金を得て活動。「都心の災害を考えるワークショップ実施と展覧会の開催」学生発表会2019年金賞 2020年銀賞

We wear fashionable clothes, use computers and smart phones with dexterity, and walk on concrete with a brisk stride. We are grateful for the ability to live a normal life, and feel the beauty of everyday life passing us by peacefully, but it is only when we encounter a disaster ourselves that we realize this. We need to think about this before we are made painfully aware of it. In order to survive natural disasters, big and small, on our ever-changing planet, we need to be aware of disaster prevention in our daily lives. However, disaster prevention supplies are not useful in our daily lives. In urban areas, many people have never used sandbags and may think that they are not relevant. However, sandbags have a long history, having been unearthed from the remains of the San-no-maru moat of Osaka Castle in the 1600s, and are a basic item for preventing floods and landslides. We focused on the existence of these "sandbags" and wondered if they could be more actively used in our daily lives and if they could be made easier to use. In the form of an exhibition, we would like to provide a place to think about how to respond to disasters.

Since 2017, the theme for the designers was "sandbags". For the students, the theme was a little broader: "Urban Disaster Prevention."
